Procedure

After your arrival in Auckland, the Arrival Package is the perfect solution for your start into the Work and Travel adventure in New Zealand. Especially for all backpackers who want to keep an eye on their expenses.
Day 1

On the first day of your New Zealand adventure, you don’t have to worry about anything. You just hop into your shuttle taxi at the airport and are driven directly to one of the best hostels in all of Auckland.
Day 2
- Open a bank account
- Apply for a tax number
- Individual consultation
Today is all about bureaucratic and organizational matters. We want to make sure that nothing stands in the way of your working holiday in New Zealand and we help you open your bank account and apply for your IRD number, which you need for working in New Zealand.

Our Arrival Starter Package is designed to make your arrival in New Zealand as easy and comfortable as possible so that you can fully focus on your adventure.

Support – Before and after your arrival

Everything is already prepared for your arrival. Your shuttle taxi takes you directly from the airport to the hostel. From there, we support you with topics like bank accounts, car purchases, or job hunting simply via WhatsApp.

We will assist you throughout your entire stay in New Zealand via WhatsApp, and you can contact us anytime with questions.

For topics like buying a car, renting a car, looking for a job, or opening your bank account, we are here for you. Or, of course, simply if you encounter problems while on the go and need help. Just contact us, and we will respond as quickly as possible.

Accommodation – 3 nights included

The package includes 3 nights in Auckland’s top hostel. More information (and a few impressions) can be found a bit further down. Absolutely recommended as the start of your adventure.

Your bed in one of the best hostels in Auckland is already booked, and you have 3 nights included. Checking in and arriving at your own pace has never been easier. The team at the hostel will assist you in booking day excursions, city tours, and other tours on site. This, of course, is optional.

Support for bank account & tax number

We support you in opening your bank account as well as applying for your tax number. This ensures that you don’t have long waiting times for appointments and that everything has been set up correctly.

Regarding the bank account, we only rely on proven local banks. Which bank it will be always depends on when you arrive and which bank still has appointments available.

Accommodation

Included in the package are 3 nights’ accommodation in one of the best backpacker hostels in Auckland. We like to stay there ourselves and highly recommend it for a relaxed arrival.

We always try to book all backpackers into the Haka Lodge in Auckland. The standard room included in all starter packages is a 20-bed dorm. An upgrade to a smaller room with fewer beds is possible at an extra cost. Additional nights can of course be arranged.

Should the Haka Lodge be fully booked for the desired period, we will arrange a suitable alternative.

What if I get lost in Auckland?

Don't worry, we're looking out for you. You will be equipped with all the important maps and receive numerous tips on what there is to see in Auckland and how to get from A to B. In an emergency, we are always reachable via WhatsApp. So you're not on your own.

Yep! We offer group discounts on our starter package upon request. Just send us a message and we can talk about it.

That's entirely up to you. If you don't have any specific travel plans yet, we are happy to advise you. You can also book tours, courses, or excursions with us and meet new people in the process. By the way, you will also receive a participation confirmation that you have successfully completed the starter package.

What do I do if I have too much luggage to carry?

We can help with that too. As part of your Arrival Package, you are entitled to free luggage storage. Just talk to the team at the hostel.

How do I know the package will be offered on my arrival day?

It doesn't matter when you arrive in Auckland. The Kiwi Arrival Package Auckland is offered every day. Just let us know your flight details in advance and we will take care of the rest.

What do I do with mail from authorities while I'm traveling in New Zealand?

We help you apply for a New Zealand postal address (Proof of Address) to ensure everything goes smoothly. You also need this address when you open a bank account and apply for your tax number.

I haven't booked any accommodation yet. Will I still be picked up from the airport?

When you book our Kiwi Arrival Package Auckland, the first three nights at a hostel are included. The airport shuttle driver knows exactly where to take you, so checking in at the hostel will be simple and you won't need to wander around Auckland for hours.
